Allium atropurpureum

The queen of the night in the Allium family - I love its dark colours. Its nearly black seed box is surrounded by reddish purple petals, above which sits the bluish-purple stamen. It is a miniature spectacle of colours. Very pretty if you plant it loosely throughout the garden.
