Allium Red Mohican

The Allium, also called ornamental onion, comes in hundreds of varieties and is by far the most cultivated bulb crop worldwide. Onions, garlic, leeks, chives and shallots, they are all Alliums.

As an ornamental flower in the garden, the Allium is best known for its purple-blue spherical flowers. Occasionally a white or a flower that is somewhat looser in shape or one that is somewhat larger in size, but otherwise they are flowers that often resemble their brothers or sisters.

Allium Red Mohican fortunately brings some variation. Its beautiful colour and unusual flower shape are a welcome addition to the world of ornamental onions.
